June 28, 2026

1. Pastor Tina Teng-Henson has accepted the Session’s call to serve as Canaan’s English Ministry Pastor.  She will begin a two-year term of ministry on August 1, 2026. Please continue to pray for her as she prepares for this transition, that the Lord would grant her wisdom, strength, and joy as she steps into this new role.
2. Nursery Room Update: Beginning this Sunday, June 28, the church nursery will be located in Room 102. Please look for the sign on the door if needed. After the All Church Service promotions on 8/9/26, Room 103 will become the Age 2 classroom and the Church Nursery will be closed until need for it arises. Thank you for your understanding as we make these adjustments.
3. Our 2026 Taiwan short-term mission team will be in Taiwan 7/1-7/11. Please pray for the missions and missionaries.
4. On Communion Sunday (July 5), the Lord’s Supper will be served in worship services.

7. Canaan's 2026 Vacation Bible School Summer Camp will be held from July 21 to 25, 2026 (9am to 12pm; Tuesday to Saturday). We welcome kids age 3.5 to kids entering grade 6 in Fall 2026 to join us for a fun and meaningful week. We also need Mandarin and/or English speaking volunteers (entering grade 7 in Fall 2026 to adults) to join our team to host this 5 day camp. Please visit vbs.ecanaan.org for more info. 

8. Volunteers are needed today on Sunday 6/28 at 1:15  (and Wednesday 7/1 at 12:00) to help pick up VBS decorations. Today (6/28), pick up 1:15 from Christian Worship Center in Milpitas and unload at Canaan when we return around 2:00. Meet Shirley at Door #1 at 1:00 or 2:00. On Wednesday (7/1), pick up 12:00 at Calvary Chapel Fremont and unload at Canaan around 1:00.
9. You are welcome to bring water in closed top containers into WH3. The table under the TV is where other drinks and food can be left before entering WH3. Thank you!
10. The Love and Conflict Peacemaking Ministry will host a Couple’s Peacemaking Retreat in Mandarin on 9/5-9/7 (Labor Day weekend). A concurrent Children and Youth Peacemaking Retreat will also be available for kids and teens. To encourage couples and families to participate, the church will provide partial registration subsidies. Please scan the QR code to register and enjoy the earlybird rate by July 1. 11. Registration is open for Canaan’s 2026 all-church retreat (8/21-8/23 at Redwood Christian Park). Earlybird discount of $40 per person ends on May 31. Starting 6/1, extra rooms will be made available to members of other churches. Retreat coworkers can assist our members with retreat registration during lunchtime in the Fellowship Hall. 12. Renovation for Worship Hall 2 will begin on 6/29 and is expected to be completed in approximately two months. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period of construction. Please also keep this project in your prayers, asking God to grant safety, wisdom, and smooth progress so that the renovation can be completed on schedule.
