- We just wrapped up a wonderful week of VBS Summer Camp. Praise God for the kids, families, and volunteers who joined us to learn about the nature of God - who God is! Thank you for supporting us with your prayers and/or your time and energy.
- EPL and Citizens will host a joint fellowship event on August 9th for all incoming/current college students and recent graduates. The gathering begins at 4pm at Arthur and Vicki’s home, and food will be provided. Contact Arthur or Jack for more information.
- The next all-church sacraments worship service will be held at 10am on 8/9 in Worship Hall 1. This worship service will include adult baptism, membership transfer, the Lord’s Supper, Children’s Ministry promotion ceremony, and celebration of high school graduates.
- Following a series of severe, powerful earthquakes in Venezuela on June 24, 2026, Canaan donated $12,000 from the benevolent fund to assist earthquake victims through Catholic Relief Services.
- All-Church Retreat will be held from 8/21-8/23 at Redwood Christian Park. The retreat coworkers will assist our members to register during lunch time in the Fellowship Hall. If you need any financial support, please contact Torence or John.
- We have tentatively scheduled the church's Sports Day—featuring the presentation of the Canaan Cup—for the period between September 20 and October 4. In the meantime, please continue to sharpen your skills; the exact date will be confirmed once the WH2 construction project is completed. Sports competitions will include table tennis, basketball, pickleball, and indoor activities for children. If you have any suggestions, please contact Elder Peili.

- 2026 Taiwan STM team has completed the VBS camp and gospel night outreach event at Chiayi Beirong Church, serving 122 students and their families. Praise the Lord for his guidance and protection, and thank you for supporting the team with your prayers. Please continue to pray that the entire team will travel back to the USA safely.

- Canaan's 2026 Vacation Bible School Summer Camp will be held this week from July 21 to 25, 2026 (9am to 12pm; Tuesday to Saturday). VBS Summer Camp Key Dates Coming Up:
- Right after service today (11:20-11:30), please move all WH3 chairs—except first row—to the back wall (stacked), and then help Shirley move rainforest decorations from nursery room 103 to WH3 (11:30-11:40).

- VBS Set Up and Decorating Session - Sunday July 19 (1:15pm to 5pm); We welcome EXTRA HANDS to join us in transforming Canaan into a rainforest!
- We invite the church to pray with us for Canaan’s VBS - stop by the VBS info table in the Fellowship Hall to take a picture of our prayer guide.

- The Love and Conflict Peacemaking Ministry will host a Couple's Peacemaking Retreat in Mandarin on 9/5-9/7 (Labor Day weekend). A concurrent Children and Youth Peacemaking Retreat will also be available for kids and teens. We encourage couples and families to participate, and the church will provide partial registration subsidies. Please scan the QR code to register. For more details please contact P. - Renovation for Worship Hall 2 has begun and is expected to be completed in approximately two months. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period of construction. Please also keep this project in your prayers, asking God to grant safety, wisdom, and smooth progress so that the renovation can be completed on schedule.
- Nursery Room Update: The church nursery will be located in Room 102 until 8/9. After the All Church Service promotions on 8/9/26, Room 103 will become the Age 2 classroom and the Church Nursery will be closed until need for it arises. Thank you for your understanding as we make these adjustments.
- Pastor Tina Teng-Henson has accepted the Session’s call to serve as Canaan’s English Ministry Pastor. She will begin a two-year term of ministry on August 1, 2026. Please continue to pray for her as she prepares for this transition, that the Lord would grant her wisdom, strength, and joy as she steps into this new role.
- Pastor Emily Hong has accepted the Session’s call to serve as Canaan’s Taiwanese Ministry Pastor. She will begin her ministry on September 1, 2026. Praise the Lord for calling faithful servants into CTCC. Please continue to pray for her and support her ministry.
