Canaan Taiwanese Christian Church, located in San Jose, California, was established in 1980 by a fellowship of Taiwanese Christians seeking to share God’s love within Silicon Valley. Serving as a spiritual home, it remains dedicated to Christ-centered worship, discipleship, and community service. Offering services in Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English, it ministers to multiple generations, nurturing spiritual and cultural connection. Through faithful outreach and fellowship, Canaan continues to serve San Jose and the broader region. In celebration of its 45th anniversary, Canaan Church hosted an all-church ping pong game day. We were divided into five groups, with five sessions of matches. Each session had five tables—three counted for scoring and two were just for fun. Whoever won at a table earned one point, and the totals were tallied after all five sessions. I played for the Palo Alto section, winning two and losing two. In the end, we placed third—not too bad!

We were given a keychain after the game, crafted in the shape of Taiwan to symbolize cultural identity and connection. It is engraved with the name Canaan Taiwanese Christian Church and its logo, combining both faith and heritage. The keychain also reflects our beliefs and our calling to minister to the Taiwanese, Asian American, and broader community in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
