P. Dan's Book Recommendation:
John MacArthur's current book isHard to Believe: The High Cost and Infinite Value of Following Jesus.
This would be a great book for us to read, since it deals with discipleship. In looking at our society's current church conditions, many churches have redirected attention from preaching the true value of the gospel of Christ to starting programs and activities that are more popular and more appealing to attract the crowd...is it a good thing?! (Example: worship service vs. movie theater.) MacArthur challenges us to look at the priceless lessons given by Jesus: abundantand eternal life that comes only from faithfully following Jesus with complete commitment, total dependence on Him!

On 2/29/04,around 200 peple gathered at Ming's restaurant in Palo Alto to wish Rev. &Mrs. Tong a safeand blessed trip back to Indonesia. Theevening was filled with many programs presented by various fellowship groupsat Canaan. It was an evening filled with laughter, songsand tears as we celebrated their4 years of service at Canaan. They will be returning to Indonesiato continue their ministries there.
